Welcome to Talisheek Cellar
Thank you for taking the time to visit Talisheek Cellar. My wife (Kelly Cook) and I (Gregory Cook) are amateur winemakers and we have been making wine in our home for severals years now. We share the same enthusiasm and passion for winemaking as the professionals do, except We don't sell our wine, but we do share the fruits of our labor with friends, family and co-workers.
We live and raise our two daugthers in the small rural community of Talisheek, Louisiana, which is located in the Northeastern part of St. Tammany Parish and this is where we pursue our hobby. When we bottled our first batch of Concord Grape wine, we gave away some unlabeled bottles to friends to try out, they loved the wine, but they suggested that we add labels to our next batch and come up with a name for our winery. Well we threw around some ideas on each other for a couple of days, but none of the names that we came up with seem to fit our personalities. Then all of a sudden it dawned on me, why not name our winery after the very place we call home? Thus, Talisheek Cellar was born! Soon after that, I put my creative skills to work using Adobe Photoshop and I came up with our own unique label. The rest is history!
We make wine from just about anything which can be fermented, but the majority of the time we make fruit wine, such as strawberry, blackberry, plum, apple, etc. We purchase fresh fruit from local pick-your-own farms or we harvest wild berries that are indigenous to our area, such as wild blackberries, dewberries, elderberries, etc. We also make muscadine wine which is a very popular desert wine in the south. No matter what type of wine we make, we put a lot of love and pride into every bottle of wine that we give out, because we want people to enjoy every drop that comes out of a bottle that has a Talisheek Cellar label on it.
Poke around the site and let us know what you think. We thank you for visiting Talisheek Cellar online.
